Terms of Use
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of GDF Play — the Global Domino Federation's tournament platform, mobile Companion, GDF Live and the digital passes we issue. By creating an account or entering a tournament through the platform you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the platform on behalf of a club, you also confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Your account
- One person, one account. Duplicate accounts may be merged; you can combine your own accounts from My Profile → Connected Accounts.
- Use your real name. It appears on rosters, member cards, check-in lists and results; a nickname may be shown alongside it.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
- You must be at least 13 to hold an account. Tournaments may set their own age requirements.
3. Conduct
You agree not to: harass, threaten or abuse other members; post unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit content; impersonate anyone; enter false scores or interfere with officiating; scrape, probe or attack the platform; or use it for commercial solicitation without our consent. Direct messages are subject to automated and human moderation; repeated violations lead to warnings and account restrictions.
4. Tournaments, rules & officials
- Each tournament is run under the GDF rules in force, plus any local rules the organiser publishes. Where a tournament requires it, you must acknowledge the rules before checking in.
- Decisions of tournament officials on the day — scoring, disputes, warnings, cards, forfeits, disqualifications and check-in — are final for that event. Appeals, where available, follow GDF procedures outside the platform.
- Organisers may change schedules, tables, formats and capacity, and may cancel or postpone an event. Registration does not guarantee a place until it is approved; waitlists are served in order.
- In paired formats you are responsible for securing a partner before play; unpaired registrants may be withdrawn at the organiser's discretion.
5. Entry fees & prizes
- Entry fees are set per tournament by the organiser and are shown per pair and per player. Payment methods and refund rules are the organiser's; the platform records payments but does not process cards.
- Advertised prizes are "up to" amounts based on full capacity. They are recalculated from actual confirmed participation when the tournament starts and are never paid above the advertised figure. The final distribution is confirmed by tournament officials and shown on the event page.
- Prizes may be subject to tax and identity verification under local law.
6. Passes & credentials
The GDF Player Pass and member cards are personal, non-transferable credentials. A Player Pass is valid only for the tournament it names, becomes "Tournament Ready" when the pre-event requirements are met, and expires when the event ends. Presenting someone else's pass, or altering one, is grounds for removal from the event. Officials may still verify your identity at the door.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, messages and other content you upload. You grant GDF a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and reproduce that content as needed to run the platform — for example your avatar on rosters and boards, or a podium card you share. You must have the right to upload anything you post. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
8. Results & ratings
Match results, standings, rankings and ratings are the record of the competition and are public. Ratings are computed automatically (Glicko-2) from official results and may be recalculated when results are corrected or accounts are merged. We may correct records where an error is established; we do not remove legitimate results at a player's request.
9. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is". We aim for accurate live scores and timely notifications but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and live data (including pass status, table assignments and countdowns) may lag or fail; the official record is the one confirmed by the officials. To the extent permitted by law, GDF is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from the acts of other members or third-party services (sign-in providers, wallets, maps, email).
10. Suspension & termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, GDF regulations or the law, or that are used to abuse the service. Sections 7 to 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida — except where the law of your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be excluded.
